23 Also there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing. 24 But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. 25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:23-25
Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father. He lives forever more. The priest under the Old Covenant had to replace when their time as priest came to an end. Under the Old Covenant the priest the mediator between God and man. But under the New Covenant Jesus is the mediator between us and our Father in Heaven. The precious blood of Jesus enables us to draw near to the throne of grace with confidence and without fear.
It is by the grace and mercy of God that we are saved. It is by God’s grace and His power that we are held close to the Lord. We are not saved by our works and our right standing with God is not based upon our performance. It is based upon our faith in Christ Jesus. As we grow with Him we are transformed into His character and His nature.
May we fix our eyes on Jesus each day. May we seek Him with our whole heart and remove from our lives anything that would hinder our walk with Him. He is coming soon and He returns for a bride who is prepared and ready. He returns for a bride that seeks Him with her whole heart.
3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it,because the time is near. Revelation 1:3
As John writes these words the words of the prophecy he is referring to is the book of revelation. Revelation is a prophecy John received about the coming days and the seven year tribulation that will follow the church age. God gave this prophecy to John to be shared with the body of Christ and that it would be studied by God’s people.
There is a great blessing in studying and meditating upon the truth found in the book of Revelation. When we understand where we stand in God’s prophetic calendar and we understand all that is coming we live and walk in the perfect peace of God. The reason many believers struggle and especially live in fear because they don’t understand the book of Revelation. Some truly believe that the body of Christ will go through the seven year tribulation and this is not true. To believe that the body of Christ will go through the seven year tribulation is to live in fear and true believe the bride will experience the wrath of Almighty God.
But for us to truly understand Revelation we must seek the Holy Spirit for wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and revelation. The reason many have misinterpreted the book of Revelation is because they have tried to understand it through man made wisdom. If we are to truly understand Revelation we must seek the Holy Spirit in prayer and ask Him to lead and guide us as we read and study God’s word.
We should never embrace the teachings of anyone until we have measured it against God’s word. I have read multiple interpretations on Revelation, but it wasn’t until I began to study it on my own through the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit that I came to understand the truth. John tells us that blessed are those who take it to heart. We are not only to study Revelation, we are to take seriously what the Lord has laid out in His word.
There is coming a day when Jesus shall return for His bride and take His bride home. After that the Lord shall pour out His judgement upon the earth and it will culminate at the end of the seven year tribulation with Jesus returning to the earth to establish His kingdom upon the earth and to judge the nations.
But time and again the Lord tells us that the time is near. God tells us this because we are to live each day in a spirit of expectation. We are to pursue the Lord will all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We are to seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness. We are to guard our hearts from sleeping and slumbering, but to live soberly each day we are upon the earth.
We can see the signs all around us and the return of the Lord is very soon. But until that day we must be busy with the work of God’s kingdom. There is much the Lord desires to do in this hour and we must seek Him diligently in the place of prayer. Let us be found faithful and be the house of prayer He has called us to be.
Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
2 Corinthians 7:1
Our relationship with God is based upon His promises for us and our faith in the blood and death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Everything we have from God is simply a gift and He is calling us to set ourselves apart from the ways of this world. The world we live in is based upon the lies and deceptions of Satan. One of Satan’s greatest deceptions is to convince people that he indeed does not exist.
But we know from 2 Corinthians that he is the god of this age who has blinded the minds and hearts of all those who live in bondage. It is not until we come to a place of repentance and place our fully trust and faith in Jesus Christ that were are free. We will never be free if we still have one foot in the world and one foot in God’s kingdom. Friendship with the world and its system is simply enmity against almighty God.
God is seeking a people who will seek Him with their whole heart, mind, soul, and strength. He is seeking a people who are willing to lay it all down for the sake of His kingdom and His glory. In this world some of us will actually lose our lives for the sake of the gospel and it is the greatest honor that any Christian could ever have.
We live in a world that is becoming darker by the day and the spirit of the Anti-Christ grows in the hearts of all those who have rejected the truth of who God is. When people reject light the only thing they are left with is deception. As followers of Jesus Christ let us take every opportunity to share the gospel in all that we do. Let us live our lives as Living sacrifices unto the Lord and separate ourselves from the culture and desires of this world. There is coming a day and hour in which the Lord shall return, let us be found ready when He does.
