Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Ephesians 6:10-11 NKJV
We are called to put on the whole armor of God. Every day we find ourselves in a war zone. The enemy continually assaults our minds with lies and deceptions and the way that we stand against the enemy is putting on the full armor of God.
Those who put on the full armor of God are those who have an attitude of readiness. The understand the nature and reality of the enemy they face. We are not called to live in fear or be intimidated by the enemy. We are called to stand against the wiles of the enemy. We are called to be the mighty ones and overcomers. Because the honest truth is the enemy we face is defeated and we are the ones who have been given authority.
We are called to be strong in the Lord and His mighty power. When we take time to simply meditate and focus on the power of Almighty God it shows us that His power within us is without limit and because of this it doesn’t matter what we face. We will overcome anything we face because it will be the Holy Spirit within us that will empower and enable us to overcome. Let us understand the reality we live in every day and be the warriors and soldiers God has called us to be.
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.
Ephesians 6:10-11 NLT
The armor of God is based on faith, truth, righteousness, peace, salvation, God’s word, and praying in the Spirit on all occasions. To put on the full armor of God we must abide in the Lord on a daily basis. When we come to Christ we are set free from the bondage of sin and death. The enemy no longer has authority or power over us. What he does have is lies and accusations and he will send these our way as fiery arrows.
But we have nothing to fear because as we abide in the Lord daily it is the Lord who strengthens us and fills us with wisdom. The battle belongs unto Him and He is simply desiring that we place it in His hands through prayer. As we seek the Lord and pray forth His will, His hand will move mightily in our lives and will protect us from the schemes of the enemy.
The armor of God is not physical, but it is spiritual. It is based upon understanding our righteousness is in Jesus Christ, that our minds are set upon things above, that we walk in peace in all things, that truth holds all things together, that we speak God’s word into every situation, that we stand upon God’s word in faith, and that we are led by the Holy Spirit in prayer. It simply comes down to abiding in Jesus. Jesus came to restore all that was lost in the garden of Eden and what was lost was intimacy with the Lord. Let us draw near and simply place our faith and trust in Jesus in all things.
