Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV

The Lord will comfort us in the most difficult moments of our lives.  He does this to strengthen and sustain us for the journey.  He does it to develop compassion within us for those who are also suffering so that the same comfort we have received from the Lord, we will pour out upon them.

Many times when we are going through something hard we can feel overwhelmed.  But we must remember where our strength comes from.  It is the Lord who sustains us and His grace is sufficient for all things.  He has given His word to sustain us and transform us.  He is faithful 100 percent of the time.

Too many times we allow the discouragement of the enemy to creep into our hearts and minds.  But we must recognize it for what it is and where it comes from.  God is faithful.  Today if you are suffering or going through a difficult time simply draw near to the Lord.  Allow Him to minister to your heart and strengthen you for the journey.  He has created you with destiny and purpose.  By His mighty power and grace He will bring all things to pass.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

God is our merciful Father and source of all comfort.  Some have a difficult time with the concept of God the Father because of the relationship they had with their own father as a child.  If a person had a father who was abusive or absent from their lives, then the concept of God the Father will be hard for them to understand and receive.

But if we desire to know the character and nature of our Father in Heaven we only need to look to Jesus.  For Jesus is the physical representation of the Father.  He embodies everything the Father is and Jesus demonstrated the mercy, love, and grace of the Father through His sacrifice at Calvary.

In this world when we choose to follow Jesus Christ and make Him Lord and Savior, we will face trials and challenges.  We will experience suffering and sometimes this suffering will be very painful and never seem like it will end.

But God is our source of all comfort.  The greatest thing we can do in the place of suffering is draw near to God.  For when we draw near to Him and seek Him, He will strengthen us and enable us to overcome.  Nothing we will face in this life will be greater than the God we will serve.  He has so designed our lives to use the things we face to shape and mold us into the people He has called us to be.

For when the Lord calls us He doesn’t see who we are, He sees the person we will become.  For He knew us and chose us before the foundations of the world.  May we draw near daily unto Him.  May we take joy in the suffering that we face and understand there is no greater honor than to suffer for the name of Jesus.  He is coming soon and there is great reward that awaits those who have faithfully served Him upon the earth.

2 Corinthians 12:9

“but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough–always available–regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.”‭‭2 CORINTHIANS‬ ‭12:9‬ ‭AMP‬‬

The Lord’s grace is sufficient for all things and His strength is perfected in our weakness. In this life we will face trials and we will face challenges. But through it all the Lord will empower us to overcome.

He uses all things for our growth and our good. He desires that we would move from a place of immaturity to maturity. He desires that the fruit of the Holy Spirit be produced in our lives.

Those the Father loves He prunes. He doesn’t desire for us to stay where we are. He desires to lead us to deeper places in Him.  Our journey with Him is throughout our lives on this earth and in eternity some day in His kingdom. May we have a right understanding and perspective off all we go through.

When the Lord allows us to go through trials it is not because He is angry with us or has forgotten us. It is because He loves us and understands that we will not grow in the place of comfort. May we be willing to be obedient in all things and allow the Lord to simply have His way in our lives.
