Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV

The Lord will comfort us in the most difficult moments of our lives.  He does this to strengthen and sustain us for the journey.  He does it to develop compassion within us for those who are also suffering so that the same comfort we have received from the Lord, we will pour out upon them.

Many times when we are going through something hard we can feel overwhelmed.  But we must remember where our strength comes from.  It is the Lord who sustains us and His grace is sufficient for all things.  He has given His word to sustain us and transform us.  He is faithful 100 percent of the time.

Too many times we allow the discouragement of the enemy to creep into our hearts and minds.  But we must recognize it for what it is and where it comes from.  God is faithful.  Today if you are suffering or going through a difficult time simply draw near to the Lord.  Allow Him to minister to your heart and strengthen you for the journey.  He has created you with destiny and purpose.  By His mighty power and grace He will bring all things to pass.

2 Corinthians 12:9

“but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough–always available–regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.”‭‭2 CORINTHIANS‬ ‭12:9‬ ‭AMP‬‬

The Lord’s grace is sufficient for all things and His strength is perfected in our weakness. In this life we will face trials and we will face challenges. But through it all the Lord will empower us to overcome.

He uses all things for our growth and our good. He desires that we would move from a place of immaturity to maturity. He desires that the fruit of the Holy Spirit be produced in our lives.

Those the Father loves He prunes. He doesn’t desire for us to stay where we are. He desires to lead us to deeper places in Him.  Our journey with Him is throughout our lives on this earth and in eternity some day in His kingdom. May we have a right understanding and perspective off all we go through.

When the Lord allows us to go through trials it is not because He is angry with us or has forgotten us. It is because He loves us and understands that we will not grow in the place of comfort. May we be willing to be obedient in all things and allow the Lord to simply have His way in our lives.

For the love of Christ controls us

For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 NASB

We no longer live for ourselves.  All of us who have received Jesus as Lord and Savior are bond servants of Jesus Christ.  The apostle Paul understood this and he understood that his life no longer belonged to himself.  One thing that happens as we mature in Christ is that we continue to surrender to the will of God.  When we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior our lives are no longer our own.  We are called to lay down our dreams and desires and the driving force in our lives must become the will of God.  I have learned as I have spent time in prayer that prayer is the ultimate place of surrender.  As we grow in the place of prayer the cry of our hearts become thy will be done.  As we grow in Christ and mature in Him, His love consumes us and drives every decision and choice we make.  May we seek Him this day with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.  May we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness.
