Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
We are called to fix our eyes upon Jesus and set our minds and hearts on God’s kingdom. We live in a world filled with darkness. It is very easy to become consumed with the darkness of our times. But we have been set free from the darkness and wickedness of the world. As we grow in our knowledge of the Lord and His word, our minds become fixed upon the Lord.
The human mind is an incredible thing. It is where decisions are made on a daily basis. The battles we face on a daily basis take place in our minds. We are consistently tempted by the enemy to return to the world and the things of wickedness. But we must continue to set our minds above on the Lord and His kingdom.
Our minds and our thinking is transformed as we spend time daily in God’s word. As we read God’s word and meditate upon God’s word, it is the Holy Spirit who pours revelation into our hearts and minds. It is the Holy Spirit who leads and guides us into all truth. We can grow as deep as we desire to go in our understanding of God’s word. It simply depends on how much we are willing to pour into the study of His word. As we grow each day in the place of prayer and the study of His word, we continue to go deeper in our relationship with God.
