Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
We are simply called to pray for those in positions of leadership. All of us have our own personal feelings about those who are in leadership. But we must remember that we can only see things from the outside in and many times we base our opinions on the skewed reports of the media.
The body of Christ is just that, we are an extension of Jesus hands and feet upon the earth. God has given us the incredible opportunity and responsibility when it comes to prayer. It is the faithful prayers of God’s sons and daughters that impact the course of history and impact the nations of the earth.
The decisions a leader makes is made from their head and their heart. It is the Lord who holds both in His hands and as we pray the leaders we are praying for are impacted by our prayers. Often times the enemy will lie to us and tell us our prayers are insignificant. But we must not heed nor listen to the lying voice of the enemy. Our attention and focus must be upon the word of God alone.
So let us this day be obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit as He moves upon our hearts to pray for those in leadership. May we put our personal feelings aside and simply be faithful to pray. The body of Christ is called to be a house of prayer for all nations. May we faithful pray and continue to pray until our Lord returns to take us home.
