11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:11
Suffering and chastening is not a pleasant process. The trials we face and go through have an eternal purpose behind them. But we must have the same attitude that our Savior did simply desiring the will of the Father. When Jesus was going to the cross He prayed in the garden not my will but yours be done. There are many times when we probably desire to ask our Father to take whatever we are facing out of our lives. But we need to understand that no matter what we face the Lord will lead us through. He will carry us and He will enable us. He will fulfill His plans and purposes in our lives. But we simply need to trust the Lord at His word in all things. We can’t base our decisions based on what our circumstances look like and what our feelings tell us. We must hold fast to the faith we have in the Lord and wait upon Him to bring about His plans and purposes in our lives.
