Psalm 40:6-8

[d]Sacrifice and meal offering You have not desired;
My ears You have [e]opened;
Burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.
Then I said, “Behold, I come;
In the scroll of the book it is [f]written of me.
I delight to do Your will, O my God;
Your Law is within my heart.”  Psalm 40:6-8

What God truly desires is our heart.  He desires to have all that we are.  There are those who simply give God lip service and go through the motions.  But God sees all things and His desire is that we would simply draw near with our whole heart.

It is when we simply pursue the Lord with our whole hearts that our lives are transformed.  As we spend time daily in God’s word and in prayer is when our lives truly begin to change.

When we begin to invest in our relationship with God and begin to sow the things of God’s kingdom in our lives, we will simply reap eternal life.  What we sow is truly what we shall reap.  Falling in love with Jesus simply happens as we draw near more and more and spend more time in His presence.

It is impossible for a person to walk closely with Jesus and not remain unchanged.  The Holy Spirit transforms us from the inside out.  May we simply draw near each day and set aside every idol and every hindrance that would stand between us and all that God desires for our lives.
