57 You are my portion, O Lord;
I have said that I would keep Your words.
58 I entreated Your favor with my whole heart;
Be merciful to me according to Your word.
59 I thought about my ways,
And turned my feet to Your testimonies.
60 I made haste, and did not delay
To keep Your commandments.
61 The cords of the wicked have bound me,
But I have not forgotten Your law.
62 At midnight I will rise to give thanks to You,
Because of Your righteous judgments.
63 I am a companion of all who fear You,
And of those who keep Your precepts.
64 The earth, O Lord, is full of Your mercy;
Teach me Your statutes. Psalm 119: 57-64
God is our portion and how important is it that we keep His word and live according to His word. To claim to be in Christ, yet not live in accordance with God’s word and His ways is not biblical Christianity. When we come to Christ we are called to give all of our lives unto Him. We keep nothing for ourselves, we must be willing to deny ourselves and pick up our cross.
We are called to serve Him with our whole heart. God will pour out His mercy upon our lives and His grace is without measure upon us because of our faith in Jesus Christ. But it doesn’t give us a license to live how we please. Jesus is both Lord and Savior. So many view Him simply as Savior. But He must be both Lord and Savior.
When we recognize things in our lives that need to be removed because the Holy Spirit has made us aware of them, we need to act quickly and with haste. If the Holy Spirit is speaking to our hearts and we ignore the voice and leading of the Holy Spirit, we place ourselves in a very dangerous situation.
Those whose hearts are committed to wickedness in this world will injury us and commit offenses against us. But we must remember the promises of the Lord and our hearts must be focused upon Him alone. If we are facing a difficult trial and test it is vital that our hearts be focused upon the truth of God’s word.
We should always be willing to go before the Lord at any hour and praise and worship His holy name. For He holds our every breath and moment in His hands. He holds all things together. No matter what we are facing we can know that He is fully in control.
As the body of Christ we are one in Jesus Christ. All who call upon the name of the Lord are one in Jesus Christ. Every dividing wall has been knocked down. For if Jesus is our Lord and Savior then we have been adopted into God’s family. The distinguishing mark of any child of God is one who places their faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
The earth is full of the glory of the Lord. When we view the beauty of creation we see the finger prints of God all over it. He holds all things together. When we view the complexity of the human body and how every system works together in unison, we see the glory of the Lord. When we view the vastness of the heavens and the beauty of all things we see the glory of the Lord revealed.
Our hearts cry must be to know the Lord and His word. He is drawing us to cry out for revelation, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. He is drawing us to seek Him early in the morning and late into the evening. He is drawing us to greater levels of intimacy. To put aside every idol and every hindrance in our walk and relationship with Him.
