6 Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
7 for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
the flock under his care.
Today, if only you would hear his voice,
8 “Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah,[a]
as you did that day at Massah[b] in the wilderness,
9 where your ancestors tested me;
they tried me, though they had seen what I did. Psalm 95:6-9
We are called to bow down before the one who has created us. He holds all things in His hands. He choose to go to Calvary for us and He choose to hang upon a cross and take the punishment we deserve because of His love for us. We are the sheep of His pasture and He is our great shepherd. Daily He provides all we need and He simply calls us to come and dine at His table He has prepared for us.
We must learn from the mistakes of the history of Israel. For they followed Moses in the wilderness and spent their days complaining and crying out in unbelief. They continued to live in rebellion and disobedience and in the end it only led to destruction. We must walk in obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit and the word of God.
Everything we need is found in Him. Many times we have not because we ask not. So much is accomplished in the place of prayer and how many times do we allow things that have no eternal value to take the place He deserves. May we set aside every idol and every hindrance. May our hearts be fixed upon Him alone. For He is our King and our God.
