For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation.
The Lord takes pleasure in His people. When we come to Christ and place our faith and trust in Him, we are adopted into God’s family. We become His sons and daughters. His grace and mercy are lavished upon us, and He takes great pleasure in His fellowship with us. His desire is for us to walk in obedience on a daily basis to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit. For it is the Holy Spirit who will lead and guide us into all truth.
God raises up and honors those who truly humble themselves. The greatest detriment to salvation is pride. When someone is filled with pride they see no need of a savior because their pride blinds them to that need. But for those who humble themselves before the Lord, their eyes and hearts are open to the truth and they receive Jesus as Lord and savior. As we draw near to the Lord and abide in Him, we are transformed into His image. The character of Christ is produced within us and one of the greatest aspects of the character of Christ is humility. For Jesus humbled Himself and went to the cross on our behalf. May we grow in Him day by day and may our lives be used to glorify Him.
