13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
We can never justify sinning or giving into temptation. The Lord will give us the strength and will make a way for our way out. We need to understand the weaknesses that exist within us and not put ourselves into situations in which we will fall into temptation. If you struggle with the temptation of alcohol and have dealt with addiction in the past, then it probably would not be a good idea to make our way into a bar and spend a majority of our time there.
One of the keys to walking in victory and freedom is abiding in the Lord and following the leading of the Holy Spirit. The mistake many make is they begin to justify sin and giving into temptation. The Lord will strengthen us and if we continue in sin we simply rob ourselves of all that God desires to pour out in our lives. The Lord calls us to obedience and the blessing of the Lord is not poured out without obedience. Grace is not a license is sin. The bottom line is God has called to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and if we are following the leading of the Holy Spirit we will walk in obedience. We need to learn from our mistake and continue to grow in maturity.
