He is in our midst

19 “Again I say[c] to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”  Matthew 18:19-20

Jesus is alive and lives for every more.  He sits at the right hand of the Father.  All authority on Heaven and on earth has been given to Him.  He has given us authority and this is why unity and agreement are so important in the body of Christ.  When two or more come together in corporate prayer and agree on anything it is accomplished.  There is nothing that is impossible with the Lord.  He has spoken all things into existence and created all things.

May we as a people simply hunger and yearn for the deep things of God.  May we long for His glory and to know Him intimately.  He is crying out to His people today to believe and to ask.  We have not because we ask not.  So many churches waste their time on meaningless entertainment and programs that accomplish nothing.  Many churches seem simply like a social club that people attend to be entertained and encouraged and go home for the week.

But God desires something greater.  He desires a people who long for His glory.  He desires a people who hunger for Him for more than the food they eat and the air they breath.  He longs for us to come together as one and seek His face.  If we desire to see the nations filled with His glory and the gospel flood the earth it is going to take us seeking His face and being a house of prayer.

May we awaken and arise and come to know and understand the promises He has for us.  He has given us His word.  So many fail to diligently study and come to know the wonderful treasures that are found deep in His word.  Hear the voice of the Father drawing us ever nearer.  To be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit and to become vessels to display His glory and honor His name.  Where two or more are gathered, He is there.  Jesus is in our midst.  May we walk in the victory and authority we have in Him.
