Casting all your care upon Him

casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.  1 Peter 5:7

We are called to cast our cares upon the Lord.  One of the great strategies and schemes of the enemy is to overwhelm us with worry and doubt.  The enemy will do all that he can to move our eyes from the Lord to our circumstances.  When our eyes are focused upon our circumstances it is like the 10 spies who went to spy out the promise land and came back with a negative report because their eyes were focused only on the giants that existed in the land.

But we must have the vision of Caleb and Joshua who did not see the giants, but saw what the Lord would do for His people as God fulfilled His plans and His purposes.  In this life we will always have challenges.  On a daily basis the Lord will continue to refine and prune us to bring forth the character and nature of who He is within us.  This journey is one of transformation and transformation only takes place as we are tested and we learn to stand upon the promises of God alone.

Today if you find yourself overcome with worry, doubt, or unbelief, take time to get alone with the Lord in prayer and take time to study His word.  Ask Him for strength and for wisdom and to fill you with the power of the Holy Spirit.  We need to be filled daily with the power and might of the Holy Spirit.  It is the Holy Spirit who empowers us to be a witness upon this earth and to live a life of obedience and holiness.
