9 However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. 10 If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is [d]alive because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies [e]through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:9-11
Through faith and trust in Jesus Christ we receive the precious Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not a thing or a force, He is a person and the third person of the God head. The trinity is made up of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All three are distinct, but all three are one. Many churches ignore the Holy Spirit or treat Him as if He is unwanted. Many struggle in their walk with God because they don’t understand the Holy Spirit and how He leads them. It requires us to develop deep intimacy with the Holy Spirit if we are to walk in the greater and deeper things of God.
We walk according to the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit lives within us and He leads and guides us through speaking to our hearts and minds. It requires us to get alone with the Holy Spirit to come to learn to discern His voice. Many treat their relationship with God like a fast food meal in which they want to spend a few minutes with God but desire all the benefits of knowing Him deeply.
Our journey with the Lord is a journey and it requires us to make seeking and spending time with Him the priority. He desires to accomplish much in this day and hour and is simply seeking those who would abide in Him and make seeking Him the priority of their lives. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells within us. There is nothing impossible for us who follow Jesus and are filled with the Holy Spirit.
As we seek the Lord our hunger for Him and His presence continues to grow. The mistake many make is they believe they can have one foot in God’s kingdom and one foot in the world. But we must give our whole hearts unto the Lord. He is returning soon and He is returning for a bride and people who have diligently prepared their hearts. There will be many who shall weep and mourn when the trumpet sounds and they find themselves still upon the earth. We must seek Him daily and abide so that our hearts and minds shall be ready. Draw near unto the Lord and simply ask the Holy Spirit for greater wisdom, knowledge, revelation, and understanding.
