11 Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 God looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth.
13 Then God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth. 14 Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood; you shall make the ark with rooms, and shall [j]cover it inside and out with pitch. 15 This is how you shall make it: the length of the ark three hundred [k]cubits, its breadth fifty [l]cubits, and its height thirty [m]cubits. 16 You shall make a [n]window for the ark, and finish it to a cubit from [o]the top; and set the door of the ark in the side of it; you shall make it with lower, second, and third decks. 17 Behold, I, even I am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish. 18 But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.19 And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, to keep them alive with you; they shall be male and female. 20 Of the birds after their kind, and of the animals after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every kind will come to you to keep them alive. 21 As for you, take for yourself some of all food which is edible, and gather it to yourself; and it shall be for food for you and for them.” 22 Thus Noah did; according to all that God had commanded him, so he did. Genesis 6:9-22
36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. 37 For [y]the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and they did not [z]understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then there will be two men in the field; one [aa]will be taken and one [ab]will be left.41 Two women will be grinding at the [ac]mill; one [ad]will be taken and one [ae]will be left. Matthew 24:36-40
Noah was a man who walked righteously with the Lord. He lived in a corrupted generation in which the world was filled with wickedness and violence. The times of Noah have an incredible resemblance to our times. As we look around we see violence and wickedness on every side. People are calling that which is right wrong and they are calling that which is wicked right. This generation of people upon the earth glorifies and magnifies the things of darkness. The arrogantly mock the Living God without any fear of who He is or the judgment that is coming on the earth.
Before the flood came upon the earth because of the wickedness of all that was taking place upon the earth the Lord called to Noah. In Noah God found a man who walked righteously with the Lord and a man who would walk in obedience. Noah did not questioned God when the Lord told him to begin to build the ark, Noah simply was obedient and built the ark.
The ark was a place of deliverance and safety from the judgment of God that was coming to the earth. God throughout His word has shown time and time again that He always preserves the remnant of believers who truly love Him with their whole heart. There are many who praise God with their lips but their hearts are far from Him. We have churches today that are filled with people who claim to follow Christ but their hearts have not been given over to the Lord.
Today the Lord is calling His people to prepare and get ready. We are called to abide in Him through studying His word and spending time daily in prayer. As we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit we will not gratify the lust of the sinful nature. But for us to know and discern the leading of the Holy Spirit we must spend time with the Lord in fellowship.
Jesus is our ark in this day and hour. He has not only saved us from the fire of hell and being eternally separated from God, He has also saved us from the judgment and wrath that God will pour out upon the earth. There is a day coming in which the trumpet shall sound and the bride of Christ be called home. A bride is someone who diligently prepares for her wedding day. She knows the day draws near and does all that is required to be the bride that she is called to be. Her heart is fully given to her husband and she doesn’t prepare half-heartedly.
Nothing is hidden from the Living God. He sees all things and sees every motive of the human heart. Again there are some today who claim to follow Christ and their hearts have not been given to Him. There are some today who stand behind pulpits and are nothing more than false teachers and prophets. But in these last days the Lord will reveal all that is done in the dark and bring it forth into the light.
He shall pour forth His righteousness and justice upon the earth and separate the true bride from the false. It is time to stop playing games and it is time to flee the desires of this perverse generation. As the body and bride of Christ we are called to be set apart for His glory. Our lives are called to be a living sacrifice unto the Lord.
Jesus said that it would be just like the days of Noah. Those days are upon us and every day is one day closer to the trumpet sound. It shall come like a thief in the night. Now is the day and hour to prepare. Prepare your hearts and draw near in the place of prayer and the study of God’s word. Jesus has paid the ultimate price for our salvation. Let us use our lives to simply glorify and magnify His name.
