so that in Me you may have peace

33 These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33

In this world as followers of Jesus Christ we will indeed have trouble and face tribulation.  We should never be surprised by the things we experience in this world because this world is not our home.  When Jesus is our Lord and Savior we have a target placed upon us by the enemy.  But everything we face in this world as we seek and follow the Lord is according to His sovereign will.  The Lord will strengthen us for all things and will use every trial we face to actually strengthen us and mature us.  This is why we must simply keep our eyes fixed upon Jesus.  When our eyes are on our circumstances we will feel overwhelmed and not experience the peace of God.  But when our eyes are focused upon Jesus the peace of God fills our hearts and we walk in victory and authority.  Abiding in Him daily is the key to the victorious life.
