That we may be able to comfort those who are in trouble

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NKJV

Jesus has made it clear that His grace is sufficient and His strength is perfected in our weakness.  In this life we will face trials and tribulations.  But there is a purpose in everything we face in this life.  Through every trial we face as we stand upon God’s word and His promises for our lives, we grow in the character and nature of who Jesus is.  As we mature we then have an opportunity to encourage and reach out to fellow believers who are new in the faith or struggling.

As the body of Christ we are a family.  No matter where we have come from when we come to Jesus, we are adopted into God’s family.  We are one one body and when one part of the body is suffering we are all suffering.  May we be filled with the love, grace, and mercy of Jesus in all that we do.  May our eyes be fixed upon Him in all things and when our fellow brothers and sisters are struggling may we pray for one another and be prepared at all times to speak a word of encouragement.  We are all facing trials and tribulations.  They are unique to the anointing and calling God has upon our lives.  But may we stand together as one people and one body lifting one another up before the Lord.
