“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
The Lord’s ways and how He accomplishes His purposes upon the earth is often times outside our expectation or understanding. This journey with Jesus is one of faith. We are called to trust the Lord at His word. Within His word He has promises for our lives and sometimes in our lives it seems that some how God has forgotten or abandoned us. But the truth is that in our most difficult moments the Lord is testing and refining us.
He desires to develop deep trust with Him because where trust exist, intimacy exist. The whole reason Jesus went to the cross was to restore what was lost in the garden of Eden. When Adam and Eve sinned they severed the relationship they had with God. But when Jesus came and died upon the cross, He made the way possible for anyone to have a personal relationship with God.
Everything we have with Jesus is because of the love and grace He has for us. It is His love and grace that holds us close to Him and as we grow in Him, His love and grace fills our lives for others. This is why He tells us to abide in Him because it is in abiding that we are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
