But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold. My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside.
The Lord knows our every step because He leads and guides us. In this life there will be testing, but as we walk with the Lord and trust Him, we will come forth as gold. The road to maturation in Christ is a road that is filled with testing. The only way our faith truly grows is when it is tested and we are placed in a situation in which we must trust the Lord.
When things are very comfortable there is little growth that takes place. It is human nature to desire to be comfortable in our lives. But God’s desire is to take us from glory to glory. His desire is to develop deep intimacy and maturity within us and this can only take place through being tested. When we are tested the way we overcome is by simply abiding in Him. As we abide His strength is perfected in our weakness.
