We also ought to love one another

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.  No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.

1 John 4:11-12 NKJV

If we claim to be followers of Jesus Christ then His love should fill every area of our lives and this includes our love for one another.  There is nothing uglier on this earth than when division and in fighting exist in the body of Christ.  Division and infighting often comes because of pride.  When we get our eyes off Jesus and on ourselves and one another is when we being to have strife and division in our ranks.

Division and strife will actually hinder the work of the Holy Spirit in our midst.  It is no coincidence that churches that struggle with unity also seem spiritually dead and empty.  The Lord will never bless us with His manifest presence if we are continuing to tear one another down and devour one another.  The tactic of the enemy from the beginning is to bring division, we see this in the lives of Cain and Able (Genesis 4:1-15).  Satan worked in the heart of Cain and developed such hatred against his brother that he was willing to murder him.

If we desire to walk in unity and have the manifest presence of God in our midst than we must be a people of prayer.  When our lives are immersed in the place of prayer, it will guard our hearts and minds against the lies and deceptions of the enemy.  Our focus will naturally be upon the Lord when our lives are built in the place of prayer.  When we become a house of prayer, we will become all that God has called and destined us to be.
