Walk worthy of the calling

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  Ephesians 4:1-3

We are called to walk worthy of the calling to which we have been called.  We have been drawn by the Holy Spirit and our eyes have been open by the grace and mercy of Almighty God.  We don’t deserve salvation and have done nothing to earn it.  We have simply been saved by the grace of God.

Because He is holy we are called to be holy.  As we walk with Him and abide in Him we are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.  The process of being transformed into the image and character of Christ is a supernatural one.  It happens over the course of our lifetime as we submit to the Lord more and more.

As we walk in the character of Christ we will naturally walk in unity.  The key to walking in unity is having our eyes fixed upon Jesus.  When our eyes are fixed upon Jesus we naturally walk in humility as a result.  Where many have made the mistake is that they have taken their eyes off Jesus and placed it on themselves.  In so doing their heart has been filled with pride and it has caused division in the body of Christ.
