For our struggle is not against flesh and blood

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious].

Ephesians 6:12-13 AMP

As believers in Jesus Christ we find ourselves wage in a spiritual war daily.  Our enemy has no power or authority but he does have lie and deception.  He will try to overwhelm us with fear, doubt, worry, and unbelief.  Every thing that proceeds out of his mouth is simply a lie.  For us to walk in victory and freedom we must be diligent people of prayer and serious disciples of God’s word.

Knowing God’s word will guard and protect our hearts.  The only way that we can truly recognize and discern a lie is to know the truth.  We live in a day and age in which we are bombarded on a daily basis by the lies of the enemy through social media and entertainment.  We can feel overwhelmed at times, but more intimate we walk with the Lord the more we will have our eyes fixed upon Him.

We have nothing to fear.  We are the bride of Christ and we are covered with the blood of Jesus.  We have access to the throne of grace with confidence.  Let us stop focusing on our circumstances and the challenges we face, but let us fix our hearts upon the promises of God’s word for our lives.
