Ask and it will be given to you Matthew 7:7-12

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.  Matthew 7:7-12

When the Lord tells us to ask, seek, and knock He is speaking about prayer.  We are called to go before our Father in Heaven daily in prayer.  We are called to lay our petitions and thanksgiving before His throne.  Jesus modeled the importance of prayer during His time upon the earth.  Often times He would get away from the crowds and spend time in deep intimate prayer.  It is in the place of prayer that the glory of the Lord is manifested in the earth.

Today we live in a world that is filled with distractions.  Because of social media and entertainment, we are bombarded on a daily basis by the lies and deceptions of the enemy.  But as God’s sons and daughters we are called to be a house of prayer.  We are called to be relentless in the place of prayer.  The Lord is faithful in every promise and He has promised to hear from Heaven and move on our behalf.

Many times when the Holy Spirit is leading us to prayer in a certain area we will not see the answer manifested for quite some time.  There is much that is being accomplished when we go before the Lord in prayer and we cannot become discouraged and give up.  We must continue to press on in the place of prayer and simply be obedient as the Holy Spirit leads.

  1. as God’s sons and daughters we are called to be a house of prayer. Amen and Amen, This is so good. Thanks for that. I was leading to prayer these days . I took the book of prayer form Timothy Keller. Morning prayer . midday prayer – evening prayer and before sleep prayer. Please keep writing for the Lord.

  2. There are more distractions than ever in these last days. As for me and I suspect for others too, the internet, if not kept in check and under the control of The Holy Spirit will lead a child of God away from spending time with Him. This includes sites that aren’t sinful in and of themselves. Our enemy satan will use any means to keep us away from The Word and prayer.
