I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
Those who have truly given their hearts to Jesus Christ know the voice and leading of the Holy Spirit. It is one thing to raise your hand and desire to receive Christ as savior, it is a vastly other thing to truly give your full heart over to the Lord. If we desire to experience and walk in all that God has for us it requires that we truly make Jesus Lord and Savior. He gave His very life and shed His very blood so we could be free and too many times so many treat His sacrifice as trivial. But when we take time to get alone with the Lord and spend time with Him we come to know the depths of His heart. When we come to know the depths of His heart we come to understand how much He truly loves us and how much His sacrifice truly meant.
Knowing Jesus can only happen by spending time with Him. When we examine the gospels we see that many flocked to Him and desired to be touched by Him. But we see at the end of the day there were only twelve disciples who walked closely with the Lord and within that twelve there were only three in His inner circle. To truly know Jesus requires for us to draw near and spend time with Jesus daily. This does not happen quickly, but simply happens over a life time as we simply draw near each day.
