Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
Jesus is the light of the world. We who are in Christ have the awesome privilege and gift of having a personal relationship with the one who created all things. All things were created through Him. We live in a world that is filled with darkness and sin because of what happened in the Garden of Eden.
But God in His grace and His mercy chose to come to this earth to die for our sins. Jesus took on the punishment and wrath that we deserved. We are simply saved by grace and we who are in Christ are vessels of His glory. The more we abide in Him and the more we grow, the more His presence and His love fills every area of our lives.
What we have with Christ is a true relationship. The more we invest into that relationship the more we are transformed by the power and might of the Holy Spirit. We will go as deep with God as we are willing. He will never force us to do anything. If we desire to stay on the surface and live in shallow Christianity then He will not force us to go. He will knock on our hearts and draw us.
But those who are truly willing to seek the Lord with their whole heart will come to know the depths of His heart. Their hearts and minds will become one with His and they will become vessels through which the Lord shall accomplish His plans and purposes upon the earth. It is incredible to meditate upon the fact that the one who created all things simply chooses to use us. May you continue to draw near and seek Him with your whole heart.
