Do nothing from factional motives

Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance. Instead, in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves].

Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others.  Philippians 2:3-4

The key to walking in unity in the body of Christ is humility.  When we walk in humility our eyes are taken off ourselves and placed solely upon Jesus.  When our eyes are fixed solely fixed upon Jesus we as God’s people shall display His glory, power, authority, and love.  For too long the church has existed as a powerless group.  We have simply demonstrated the deadness of religion that is based upon the wisdom and understanding of man.  We need to abandon the wisdom of man and embrace simply the leading of the Holy Spirit.

God has not made this complicated by any means.  He has simply called us to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.  The only way the voice of the Holy Spirit becomes crystal clear is as we make spending time with Him the priority.  Those who set aside the idols and distractions of this world will be used greatly by God because they will know and understand His voice.  As we grow in Him we naturally walk in humility.  Let us put aside the deeds of darkness and simply pursue the Lord with our whole heart.
