I have loved you with an everlasting love

“The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭31:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God’s love for us is everlasting and unconditional. His love for us is not based on our successes and it is not based on our shortcomings. He loves us because at His core that is who He is. He is full of love, grace, and mercy and desires to lavish it on each and everyone of us.

Each and every day we need to focus on His love for us. Many times we get focused on ourselves either focusing on our successes and being filled with pride, or focusing on our shortcomings and being filled with condemnation.

The focus of our lives must be Christ alone. He is the only one who is perfect and it is because of Him that we are free and able to draw near into God with confidence.

Many Christians today are either filled with self-righteousness or they are filled with discouragement because their focus is on themselves. God’s grace and patience is far greater than we will ever understand.

Today focus your hearts on Him alone. Abide in Him and He will prepare you for His return and everything you will face in this life. We are called to be champions and overcomers but it begins with understanding who we are in Him.
