“For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”Titus 3:3-7 NKJV
Our salvation is because of the mercy and grace of God. It is not based on our works and our righteousness is not based upon our behavior. We simply are transformed into the image of Christ as we come to know God’s word in deeper ways. The depth of revelation is received when we spend deep time in prayer and then spend time in God’s word.
The reason so many struggle is they are ignorant of God’s word. We live in a time when we have no excuse. We have biblical resources that surround us and often times because of the busyness of life we fail to spend time with the Lord. We neglect our relationship with Him because we have allowed idols to take the place He deserves.
An idol is anything that becomes the priority of our lives. We often get off track when we begin to neglect spending time alone with the Lord. When we spend time alone with the Lord He supernaturally moves in our hearts and fills us with His strength.
We must commit ourselves to pursuing Him with a intense zeal. We must hunger for God’s presence more than the air we breath. We must become a people of His presence, His word, and prayer. Today pursue Him with your whole heart and hold nothing back. Let us be the bride He has called us to be.
