I the Lord search the heart

“I the Lord search the heart
    and examine the mind,
to reward each person according to their conduct,
according to what their deeds deserve.”  Jeremiah 17:10

When we stand before Jesus Christ some day we will give an account of our lives.  We will give an account of how we used the gifts and talents we were given on this earth.  All of us have spiritual gifts when we come to Christ and are born again.  It is the Holy Spirit who empowers us with these spiritual gifts and teaches us how to operate in them.  Those who are faithful with what they have been given will be placed in charge of much in God’s kingdom.  Those who are not faithful will be placed in charge of very little.

Our lives on this earth are very short and are but a breath.  So many look at there lives on this earth as the only thing that matters, but when compared to eternity they are but a breath.  But what we do now upon the earth will determine our position in God’s kingdom in eternity.  Our salvation is a  free gift, but our position and where we rule and reign with Christ in His kingdom will be based upon our faithfulness while on this earth.

God uses all things to test our hearts.  Every trial we face and every test we face is simply meant to lead us to a decision.  Will we continue to trust and follow the Lord or will we turn our backs upon the Lord.  Those who faithful abide each day in the Lord are natural faithful servants of the Lord because being faithful to the Lord cannot be accomplished in our own strength.  But if we simply abide each day we will be found to be a faithful servant of the Lord.
