Philippians 2:14-16: Do everything without murmuring

Do everything without murmuring or questioning [the providence of God], so that you may prove yourselves to be blameless and guileless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish in the midst of a [morally] crooked and [spiritually] perverted generation, among whom you are seen as bright lights [beacons shining out clearly] in the world [of darkness], holding out and offering to everyone the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to rejoice greatly because I did not run [my race] in vain nor labor without result.

Philippians 2:14-16 AMP

We are called to do all things without murmuring and complaining.  We have been set free through the blood of Jesus and though we face trials and tribulations in this world we have nothing to complain about.  There are many who are suffering throughout the body of Christ for the name of Jesus.  But the truth is that we live in a lost world.  We are surrounded by people on a daily basis who are blinded to the truth and believe because we follow Jesus Christ we are the enemy.

We are called to be a light in a crooked generation.  We never know the full impact of our lives until we stand before the Lord someday.  Those who are in darkness are looking for something that is true and authentic and those who are being drawn by the Holy Spirit may have their eyes focused on us because of the way we live our lives.  It is one thing to call ourselves a Christian, it is totally different thing to live like Jesus in His love and compassion.

As we seek the Lord daily it is the Holy Spirit who transforms our lives by the power and grace of God.  As we read God’s word and we meditate upon it daily our minds are renewed and when our minds are renewed our lives are transformed.  For it is in our mind that the battlefield lies and it is our minds that determine how we live our lives.  What we believe and what we value will drive the way we live our lives and make decisions because all life truly is is one decision after another that leads us on a journey.  When our minds are set upon Jesus Christ and His kingdom we will naturally seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness.
