He came only as a witness to the light

There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.  John 1:6-8.

John the Baptist was a man called by God to prepared the hearts of God’s people for the coming Messiah.  He was not the Messiah but was the forerunner who called the people to repentance and to prepare their hearts for the Messiah.  John called the people not only to repent but to produce fruit in keeping with repentance.

The Lord today is raising up many voices around the earth calling God’s people to true repentance.  The return of the Lord is very soon for His bride and once again He is calling His people to repentance with fruit produce.  If we have truly come to a place of true repentance then we have turned our backs and lives on the ways of the world and we have fully embraced the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

The Lord said that His return would be like in the days of Noah.  During Noah’s day Noah preached over and over again of the coming flood and was obedient to the Lord to build and ark.  No one heeded the call of Noah and in the end the flood overcame them and they were destroyed.

Today we find ourselves in a time in which man are going about their lives like things will continue just the way they are.  But there are many things coming in the coming days and the Lord is calling us to prepare our hearts.  We prepare our hearts through prayer and spending time in God’s word daily.  The Lord is calling us to set aside all idols and simply seek Him with our whole heart.

Today if you can hear the voice of the Good Shepherd today heed His voice and know that He is calling His bride to prepare her heart.  When a bride knows her wedding day is before her she goes into strict preparation preparing herself for her groom.  Jesus is our groomsman and He is returning soon.  The signs are all around us, let us simply prepare now in this day and in this hour.
