Do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus

Whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus [and in dependence on Him], giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Colossians 3:17 AMP

We are simply called to be a vessel of the Lord’s glory.  We are called to live our lives in a way that in everything we do we bring glory and honor to the name of Jesus.  Being a disciple of Jesus Christ is not just a one time decision, it is a daily walk with the Lord in which through all things we trust Him and glorify Him.

He has not called us to walk this life alone.  He has not called us to rely upon ourselves or our own strength.  He is simply desiring that we would fully rely upon Him and ask Him for wisdom and strength.  Many times in our pride and humanity we believe we can overcome things in ourselves and as a result we are hindered because of our own pride.

But when we come to the place where we simply humble ourselves it is in that place that we begin to walk in the strength and wisdom of the Lord.  One of the signifying characteristics of a disciple of the Lord Jesus is humility.  When we begin to walk in humility is when we begin to walk in true strength.  Simply humble yourself before the Lord and allow Him to carry you.
