Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.
There is a rest that is found in Jesus Christ. Before we place our faith and trust in Jesus Christ we are in bondage to the curse of sin and death. We live a restless life trying to fill the void that only Jesus can fill by the desires of the world. It leads to emptiness and hopelessness.
But in Christ we are set free. Through His blood our sins are forgiven and we are declared righteous. We are able to draw near to the throne of grace with confidence. We are able to spend time in the Father’s presence at any time because we are without sin. Sin is the only thing that separates someone from the living God and through the blood of Jesus our sin is washed away.
Let us rest each day in the Lord’s love for us. Let us focus our hearts on the truth of God’s word and continue to grow in the character of Christ. As we draw near and spend time daily in prayer and the study of God’s word we will naturally as a result grow in maturity with Christ. What we invest in our relationship with God will be a direct result of His hand working in our lives.
